COSWIN Mobile – support, today, for the mobile worker of tomorrow
As machines become more and more intelligent, equipped with instruments, supervision and diagnosis systems – the need for traditional computerized maintenance systems is being redefined. Siveco believes that, a few years from now, CMMS as we know them, as work management tools, will disappear. The technicians of tomorrow will instead access the company’s knowledge-base, as well as third-party know-how databases (for example equipment supplier’s), directly from the field.

For many years already, Siveco has been at the forefront of mobile innovation. Recent versions of COSWIN Mobile take this concept even further, with the ability to interact with any CMMS/EAM system (for example the traditional Maximo, SAP PM, Datastream) as well as COSWIN Maintenance Management System and various knowledge bases containing documents, procedures, instructional videos, etc.
Unlike typical mobile applications, which are just trying to replicate the boring EAM tables and lists on a smaller screen, thus lacking any distinctive characteristic, COSWIN Mobile literally create new possibilities, unheard-of with the old solutions, such as:

Onsite diagnosis support:
 
The technician scans the equipment RFID tag or barcode, reports the fault type and condition, then immediately access a synthetic view of previous diagnosis and remedial actions. Related job instructions can then be displayed from the work history or knowledge databases.
 
Data collection and condition assessment:
 
Collecting equipment data on paper, then inputting them in Excel, for finally uploading them in a database using ODBC tools is a thing of the past. Instead, workers simply take a picture of the equipment, follow a wizard to enter key data and can they enter information as to the equipment condition (leakage, faulty part etc.) to automatically trigger corrective action.
 
Total control of the mobile devices from the central administration server:
 
In terms of software distribution, installation (prevent users from installing unauthorized programs such as games), “waking up” of devices which are not connected to the network by sending a SMS, optimization of network usage depending on the urgency of the data transfer, data security (complete locking and automatic deletion of data if the mobile is stolen), etc.
 

COSWIN Mobile frees users from fixed terminals and traditional computing constraints. COSWIN Mobile suppresses paperwork management, minimizes overall costs and allows more time to maintain equipment or solve problems. A mobile device reduces paperwork, saves time, speeds up work and makes information flows more effective and accurate, thanks to the integration of bar codes for stock, equipment, meters and other data items.
