CMMS Implementation

Unlike traditional IT vendors who see the implementation of a maintenance management system as an end in itself, Siveco China’s team of maintenance specialists understand that the CMMS is merely a tool to reach the company’s management objectives, to define and execute its maintenance strategy and to further refine it in the long term.

This simple fact is Siveco China’s most important differentiator in the Chinese market dominated by IT suppliers without real-life maintenance experience.

Siveco’s experience in China has proven that implementing a CMMS is the best way to structure the maintenance organization, to train the team on modern maintenance practices and ensure that they get effectively implemented. This is especially critical when maintenance teams lack maturity or experience due to the specific history and development of the industry in China.

While the traditional Western model “organize first, implement CMMS later” simply doesn’t work in China, a quick CMMS implementation under the strong guidance of a joint Chinese-Western expert team can produce outstanding results, far in excess in terms of ROI of similar projects in the West. Unlike those traditional IT vendors, we have a track record of implementation success in China to prove it.

Siveco’s implementation methodology, focused on fast (as little as 4 weeks for example in Beijing Oriental Plaza, one of China’s largest real estate developments) and ROI-driven delivery, covers all aspects of the project, as shown on the figure below. It can be applied both on greenfield projects (implementation of the CMMS during the construction phase of a project, thus ensuring readiness from day one) and companies already in operation, either as a first implementation of a CMMS or as replacement for a failed “EAM” project.

Siveco’s involvement in the project goes far beyond traditional IT vendors. For instance, Siveco teams can take care of the entire data collection process, working alongside suppliers during the construction project or inspecting existing facilities, registering assets and their conditions directly into the database using Siveco’s Mobile Surveyor on PDA. Typical project services also include the preparation of preventive maintenance plans, coaching of key users by maintenance experts, follow-up audits focused not only on the system, its utilization, but also on measurable ROI.
