Siveco continues its expansion in Southeast Asia, with a new project in Laos

2013-08-09
Essilor (www.essilor.com), the world's largest manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses, has selected Siveco China to implement a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for its new manufacturing facility in Laos. Starting production in the third quarter of 2013, the new plant will manufacture polycarbonate eyeglass lenses, a type of optical lenses highly resistant to impact and particularly adapted for children. The factory is located in Savannakhet, the second largest city in Laos, less than 10 kilometers from the second Thai-Lao bridge. Essilor is one of the few multinationals investing in manufacturing in Laos. This latest Siveco China deal confirms the company's growing presence in Southeast Asia's CMMS market, where it has already delivered numerous projects (in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore).
