On July 31, Siveco was invited to speak on "How to prepare maintenance from the design and construction stage" at Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (
www.smedi.com). The presentation covered the following topics:
- How to leverage technology to build up the plant database
- How to support operations, starting from commissioning
- System integration with DCS/CBM/SCADA
- Siveco experience of working with EPC and other infrastructure projects (case studies of SinoFrench Water and SITA Waste Services)
The event was attended by around 30 engineers and professors from 4 subsidiaries of SMEDI, mainly focused on water projects and roads & bridge. Fruitful exchanges took place after the lecture, covering technical issues (how to implement such projects) and practical commercial issues (how to measure ROI).
Siveco China has extensive experience working with Chinese EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) companies and their Design Institute partners on export projects. Recent projects include power plants in Malaysia and Indonesia with CNEEC (China National Electric Engineering CO., Ltd.). In the domestic market, Siveco has worked mainly with operators-owners. Local operators and engineering firms would greatly benefit from preparing maintenance at the early stage, as illustrated by SMEDI's interest for the approach advocated by Siveco.
